At PM SHRI Atal Utkrisht Government Inter College, Baram, sports and physical education are considered an essential part of the overall development of students. The school firmly believes in the saying, “A healthy mind resides in a healthy body,” and thus provides regular opportunities for students to engage in physical activities alongside academic learning. The school has a spacious playground that supports various outdoor sports such as kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, football, and athletics. In addition to outdoor games, students are also encouraged to participate in indoor games like chess and carom, which help in improving focus, concentration, and strategic thinking.
Regular Physical Education (PE) periods are scheduled for all classes, and trained teachers guide students in warm-up exercises, yoga, and basic sports training. The school organizes annual sports day, inter-house competitions, and encourages students to participate in block, district, and state-level sports events, where many students have brought laurels to the school.
